CLASSES OFFERED @ ‘ASPIRE’

BalletBallet is a disciplined art teaching control, co-ordination, balance, poise and confidence. Technique learnt in a ballet class is followed through in all other dance styles.

 

TapMusic, rhythmic beating, timing & technique are all acquired through the study of tap.  Steps and combinations are taught at the barre in preparation for centre practice where stability and control are taught.

 

JazzJazz is a fun, energetic class which begins with a warm up session to increase flexibility then moves on to corner work (kicks, jumps, turns), then centre technique of jumps, turns, patterning and directions.

 

ContemporaryThis form of dance was developed in the 20th century, with a very strong technical ballet basis.  It pushes dance to the limit physically and emotionally, and challenges the ‘norm’ of dance with its abstract and expressive form.  A very enjoyable genre, which looks at experimenting with: time, space, energy and balance. 

 

Hip Hop – is a ‘street dance’ style, danced to Hip Hop music.  Different styles of Hip Hop are constantly evolving due to the modern Hip Hop culture.  It is a popular style of dance, which is enjoyed by all because of its fun, modern and energetic form. 

 

Performance Teams Performance Team members must be enrolled in both ballet and jazz/hip hop classes, in order to be part of the performing team, as to maintain a high standard of technique and versatility. Students who do not show  a strong technical ability will not be permitted to join these groups. Students are expected to commit to these classes once enrolled and make every effort possible to attend all classes.  Students must demonstrate a strong performance ability, a positive attitude towards their team-mates and competitors, a willingness to reach a high level of technique and to represent the studio in a respectful and courteous manner

AcrobaticsCombines the discipline of tumbling, jumping and balance.  Acrobatics teaches control, strength, flexibility and concentration. Teamwork is also called upon when demonstrating balances and tricks.

 

Jump Rope This is NEW class which offers a combination of skipping, tricks and a bit of dance. A fantastic workout for cardiovascular fitness for all age groups (5yrs+) and lots of FUN!! Ropes supplied at studio or use your own!
